Add An Autumnal Touch To Your Bathroom

Summer has come and gone – we are more than half way through autumn and winter is fast approaching. For many, the end of Summer is depressing but the colours associated with the season of autumn can be inspirational when decorating our bathrooms.
By choosing a colour scheme that reflects autumn, a variety of colours can be introduced such as burnt orange, gold, burgundy, red and earthy tones.
If you want your bathroom to look luxurious and vibrant, then choose burnt orange, burgundy or gold. Alternatively, earthy tones, such as browns, tans, warm greys and greens will add a sense of tranquillity to your space. It's all a matter of personal preference, so consider the colours which make you feel most at home and which will suit the style of your home.
Add colour with accessories
Whichever colour you select, remember to choose one or two major hues and use them in your accessories, towels, bath mats and shower curtains. Warm colours like rusty orange or a rich red add a sense of warmth and thick, fluffy towels are a must to wrap yourself in after having had a lovely invigorating shower or a long, relaxing, luxurious soak in a bath. Why not embroider your towels with motifs such as leaves, trees, birds or even pumpkins?
Use wall art
If you don’t want to commit to painting your bathroom walls in an autumnal colour why not hang a few pieces of wall art featuring the autumn scenery? Once winter has arrived, you could just take them down and replace with pictures of snow scenes, trees and mountains. This is an affordable way of decorating your bathroom for each season, as you can reuse those paintings year after year.
Bring outdoor items inside
Autumn is all about enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, so why not bring some of the outdoors inside? Dried flowers, pine cones, acorns, dried leaves, berries and twigs and are natural items that can add seasonal interest to your bathroom and look lovely in glass or wicker bowls, vases or baskets.
Using wood accessories such as soap dispensers and toilet roll holders will tie in well with the other vibrant autumn items you have in your bathroom and will also add a feeling of warmth. Wooden bowls can also add a seasonal touch to the bathroom, where they can be used to store soaps and toiletries.
Use scented candles
You can buy decorative, scented candles that reflect the season, such as cinnamon or wood smoke which not only adds a lovely fragrance but creates a warm ambiance.
Even when the season is over, the vibrant, warming colours of autumn are still a good choice for adding splashes of colour to your bathroom.
