Norwich store manager to take part in 'Sleep Out' for charity

Our Norwich bathroom store manager, Liam Corcoran, is taking part in The Benjamin Foundation’s annual ‘Sleep Out’, to raise money for the charity next month!

With a target of raising £100, which will be fund-matched by us, Liam is set to sleep outside for one night – on Thursday 15th November – at Norwich City Football Club, with the aim of helping to end youth homelessness.

When our Norwich store opened earlier this year at City Trading Estate we chose The Benjamin Foundation as our official charity partner, pledging over £1,000 within the first month of trading.

Commenting on his challenge, Liam explained: “The Benjamin Foundation means a huge deal to many people in our region — it supports people in their time of need, and we think that what they do is genuinely incredible.

“In the past I’ve completed the London Marathon and multiple half marathons – I think it’s important to give back. But this is something really different and I’m actually really looking forward to it! Although I must be mad, it’s going to be freezing!”

The Benjamin Foundation supports people through the challenges that life may bring them, including homelessness, childcare, bullying and abuse.

A spokesperson from the charity said: “We want to end youth homelessness and we are tackling the problem locally by providing a home and support to over 100 vulnerable young adults each night. We give the young people stability and support their education, training and careers and ensure they have life skills such as shopping, cooking and being able to budget their money so they can leave us to forge an independent life.”
