Choosing a Shower Enclosure

A shower enclosure is a welcome addition to any home but if you only have room for an over the bath shower in the bathroom, perhaps you could fit a shower enclosure into another area. Do you have an ensuite or a downstairs cloakroom with enough space for a shower cubicle?

Wherever you choose to put it, there are certain factors that you will need to consider such as budget, space, type and style of enclosure.

Budget
How much money do you have to spend? There are many different shower enclosures to choose from and range from the relatively inexpensive to state-of-the art but more costly enclosures.

However, the important thing to remember is that as with most things, quality may suffer if you choose the cheapest option. This of course, is not always true and here at Easy Bathrooms we have an extensive range of shower enclosures to choose from that will fit most budgets and tastes.

Space
Ascertaining how much space you will actually have for the shower enclosure is one of the first things you should do. There is no point finding the perfect shower enclosure, only to get it home and find that it won’t actually fit where you want it. Make sure you measure and make a note of the space you have available so that when you’re researching which enclosure to buy you have the details to hand. Remember to include room for any surrounding fittings so you don’t end up banging the outwards swinging shower door against anything else, such as the basin.

Type & Style
There are a variety of different types of enclosures to choose from:

Recessed – This is the perfect option for when you already have an alcove in the bathroom. You
can use the existing walls to create the shower and only need to add a door. You can get adjustable shower doors, so you will always be able to get a perfect fit.

Quadrant
– This is the most popular option as many bathrooms tend to be on the small side. The quadrant enclosure is one of the best space saving solutions, slotting neatly into a corner and ensuring that you can still own a shower even if space is tight. A favourite of our customers, is the Glyn double-hinged frameless quadrant shower enclosure which is modern and stylish in design, with a double door allowing easy access.

Corner – If you want your shower to fit into a corner of the room you don’t have to choose a quadrant shower enclosure, you can also slot a rectangular or square enclosure into the corner. This is a combination of a shower door and side panel, along with two existing walls. Again, it saves space and looks neat in the corner of your bathroom. One of the best selling corner shower enclosures we have at the moment is the Rivar Bi-Fold Door Enclosure, which is of a contemporary and minimalist design and comes in different sizes, so should fit perfectly into your available corner space.

Walk-in – If you want to opt for something that’s going to give your bathroom that extra special something, than a walk-in shower is the ultimate statement. They come in a variety of shapes and once again, Easy Bathrooms have an extensive range of walk in shower enclosures for you to choose from depending on your budget, available space and of course, your preferred style.
